Area Team and Individual Competitions
Selection for Area Competitions
You must be a fully paid up member of Vale of Aeron Riding Club. To be considered for a team or individual entry you must register your interest by forwarding your name and your horse's name to the riding club a few months before the area competition. You must also indicate at which level you wish to compete and also state whether you wish to be considered as part of a team or individual.
We will provide tailored training sessions based on the upcoming area competitions in order to help members train and prepare.
Any member wishing to compete at areas who has not had a lesson with our club, be it with our club trainer or a visiting trainer, will need to attend at least two training sessions so that we can assess your ability to compete, both for the clubs safety and that of you and your horse. We are here to help you achieve what you want and to support you to enjoy your experience.
The committee will select who will represent the club based on the training sessions that members have attended. The committee will notify members of their decision.
You will be informed of the amount that you have to pay and by when you must pay it. Payment in full will be required prior to the entry closing date. If payment is not received by the date specified we will not chase you.... you will lose your place. If you withdraw as a competitor entry fees will not be refunded by the club under any circumstance.
The riding club has a selection of saddle cloths for area competitions which display the clubs logo. If you use a saddle cloth please make sure you wash it and return to a committee member within a reasonable time. If they are not returned you will be sent a bill for the cost of the saddle cloth.
Teams & Individuals must supply the required number of helpers to help the host club with the running of the competition on the day. If helpers are not provided then the club won’t be able to compete. It is down to the competitors to find helpers for the day and it is not down to the club. Details of helpers must be specified with the entries.
Before putting your name forward to be considered for an area competition please take note of the rules and regulations within the rule book, this can be found on the Area 21 website. Special attention must be given to the rules around flu vaccination. Please ensure that your horse has had the correct vaccinations within the correct timescales. This is your job to do as a competitor but we will help you where needed.
